Beijing 2008 Chinese Delegation Uniform Designs Competition Recruit Announcement

[The Tenet of this competition]
Uniform is one of the most important ways to express a country’s advancement and civilization level. People can realize the country’s featured traditional culture through dressings. The 2008 Olympic Game is the first time for China to hold Olympic Games and it is sure that the Game will be a worldwide focused sport pageant. On the 8th of August 2008, what style and features the Chinese Delegation will present in front of the world will be a hot topic, and the uniforms of the delegation will directly affect the whole team’s visage of “Inspiration, Atmosphere and Spirit”. Therefore , the uniform should be capable for presenting China’s long and refulgent history, Olympic Spirit, the society’s harmonies and advances in the world！

In the interests of getting more public involved into Olympics and making further understanding of China’s unique traditions and histories, China Olympic Committee, Sport Equipment Administrative Center of China General Administration of Sport and Heng Yuan Xiang China (Group) CO. Ltd. hold the Beijing 2008 Chinese Delegation Uniform Designs Competition.

[Recruit Phases（By Beijing Time）]

• Draft Recruit ：24 o’clock, April 25th－ July 25th 2007（by postmark）
• Manuscript Initial Judge：July 26th －July 31st 2007
• Reexamine informing: Aug 1st － Aug 6th 2007
• Reexamine sample and submit：24 o’clock, Aug 6th – September 26th（by postmark）
• Sample reexamine：September 28th－ October 8th
• Final judge ：inform after submit to superior level to confirm winner by China Olympic Committee

[Design Concept]

• Presenting China’s 5000 year-long history and culture, brightness in the present age as well as reflect concept in the future. Be widely accepted by the global publics.
• Presenting Olympic Spirit, reflect Beijing 2008 Olympic Concept
• Presenting apparel design rules and art taste principles, accord with using facts

[Definition]

• Uniform including：Grande toilette or folk costumes, overcoat, shirt（gallus-shirt or gilet）, ties , scarves, belt, leather shoes, accouterment, hat and etc.；
• Personnel：Organized and sent by COC，including officials, team leaders, coaches, athletes, team-doctor and other staffs；
• Using Range: The whole team passing custom, flag raising ceremonies, Opening and closing ceremonies, press conference, reception and meeting with governmental officials；
• Requirement: the whole man’s team dressing complete suit, shirts, ties and leather shoes, with set logo on the left front of chest；the whole woman’s team dressing complete suit with set logo on the left front of chest

[Request]

• All works in each categories should be made up of a series, each series including 2 set of suit( man and woman),? cloth match should be similar and felt wholly；
• The series number for participant is unlimited，each series will be regarded as independent（sign up must be series works）works for competition, must fill in the following request carefully and sign up the procedure；
• Height: 27CM, Width: 40CM colorful effect chart (original), same series must draw within one effect chart. Effect chart can be hand-draw or computer made. Effect chart too big or too small, not drawing within one effect chart will all regarded as inefficacy works , qualification will be canceled；
• On the upper left of the effect Chart frontispiece there should be signed the work’s name，on the lower right should be a surface sample as appendixes（8CM×8CM）or precise explanation of the surface sample. Effect chart’s frontispiece should not shown designer’s name, his/her units and in formations like designing concept；
• On the upper left of effect chart’s back , there should be stick a plane configuration chart (technical chart), A4 measures，lower right should be signed participant’s categories, name, unites, nationality and detailed contacts；
• Fill in and sign up 《Participate application》. Detailed request please follow 《Participate application》；
• Effect chart, Application form, photos are all not refundable, please keep manuscript, the copyright of design draft will be the organizing committee’s；
• Participant works should be original for both design and facture. One draft should neither deliver into two parties nor copy other’s works. The Organizing committee will cancel his/her qualifications once the above behaviors are founded

[Qualification]

• This “Beijing 2008 Chinese Delegation Uniform Designs Competition” is open to every country in the world. All participants should be bearing franchise and agree to support Olympic spirit and principles, willing to present design creations to the XXIX Olympic Game Chinese delegation；
• The organizing committee is entitled to review participant’s qualification. If a participant is unqualified for the Competition in accordance with the Rules or a participant has made any false statement in terms of his or her qualifications to participate, Organizing Committee has the right to unilaterally cancel such participant’s participation qualification at any stage of the Design Competition.

[Commitment letter for Copyright Transfer]

• Participants guarantee that the works, which submit to Beijing 2008 Chinese Delegation Uniform Designs Competition is completed by participant independently. Promisees take full, complete and exclusive copyright to works；
• Participants guarantee that he/she will never(and forever won’t ) by his/her own or accredit any third party to in global scale to deliver, use or develop the works.
• Participants will one-off, not repealable and exclusive transfer all the rights of his/her works’ copyright of all the image or solid representative to the organizing committee under worldwide legal and lawful means and approaches from the day when the works are finished
